Adult Peer Support Morning Group | September 2023 with special guest, Emily Kendall

September 28, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am AWST

Free

This is a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for people with a shared experience of living with ADHD.

Receive support — and support others — through encouragement, compassion, and advice, and discover new ways of dealing with everyday challenges. We’d love to have you join us.

What is a support group?

A support group is a group of people who meet to give and gain support from others with similar needs. For many, a support group reduces the feeling of isolation and creates an opportunity for discussion. By sharing ideas and information with others, many people are able to find new ways of coping. Most people who attend feel that the emotional support they both give and receive is of great benefit.

September Special Guest – Emily Kendall speaking on Neurodiversity in the Workplace

Emily is a qualified chemical engineer with a diploma in project management. Her day job is Principal – Concept studies in the Decarbonization team of an ASX200 company, and has been working in the resources industry for ~10 years. Emily knows first hand what it feels like to be misunderstood, mismanaged and under valued as a neurodivergent individual attempting to navigate the neurotypical corporate world. Emily is so grateful to the support networks she found over the years who helped her unmask, be authentic at work and thrive personally which is why she wanted to share her lived experience with the ADHD WA adult support group- so we can all learn and grow together as we work towards creating a space where neurodiverse folk valued as they are in the workplace. Emily is the Neurodiverse representative on NAWOs (National Association of Women in Operations) Intersectionality Advisory committee (IAC) and on the Engineers Australia I&D WA committee.
